Download & Install Root CA Certificate

This is the ONLY certificate you need to install. Our simplified setup eliminates intermediate certificates.

File: centroid-root-ca.crt
What it does: Establishes trust for all Centroid services
Organization: Centroid CA (different from server certificates to avoid iOS conflicts)

Test Your Installation

After installing the root certificate, click below to verify everything works:

🚀 Visit devs.benac.dev

You should see a green padlock with no warnings!

âš ī¸ Critical for iPhone/iPad Users: After installing the certificate, you MUST go to Settings → General → About → Certificate Trust Settings and enable full trust for "Centroid Root CA"! This is required for iOS to trust the certificate.

📱 Device-Specific Installation Instructions

After downloading the certificate, follow these device-specific steps:

📱 iPhone/iPad

1. Tap the "Download Root CA Certificate" button above
2. A prompt will appear to download a configuration profile - tap "Allow"
3. Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management
4. Tap the "Centroid Root CA" profile and tap "Install" (enter passcode if prompted)
5. CRITICAL STEP: Go to Settings → General → About → Certificate Trust Settings
6. Enable full trust for "Centroid Root CA"
7. Test by visiting https://devs.benac.dev in Safari

🤖 Android

1. Download the Root CA certificate
2. Go to Settings → Security → Encryption & credentials
3. Tap "Install a certificate" → "CA certificate"
4. Select the downloaded certificate file
5. Name it "Centroid Root CA" when prompted

đŸĻŠ Firefox

1. Download the Root CA certificate
2. In Firefox, go to about:preferences#privacy
3. Scroll to "Certificates" section → click "View Certificates"
4. Go to "Authorities" tab → click "Import"
5. Select the Root CA file and check "Trust this CA to identify websites"
6. Click "OK" to import

🌐 Chrome/Edge

1. Download the Root CA certificate
2. Navigate to chrome://settings/certificates (or edge://settings/certificates)
3. Click "Authorities" tab → "Import"
4. Select the Root CA file
5. Check "Trust this certificate for identifying websites" → Click "OK"

🐧 Linux (System-wide)

1. Download certificate: wget https://cert.benac.dev/centroid-root-ca.crt
2. Copy to system store: sudo cp centroid-root-ca.crt /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/
3. Update certificates: sudo update-ca-certificates

🍎 macOS

1. Download and double-click the Root CA certificate file
2. Keychain Access will open - select "System" keychain and click "Add"
3. Find "Centroid Root CA" in System keychain and double-click it
4. Expand "Trust" section and set "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust"
5. Enter your password when prompted

1. Download and right-click the Root CA file → "Install Certificate"
2. Select "Local Machine" → Next
3. Select "Place all certificates in the following store"
4. Browse and select "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" → Next → Finish
